Opening in 1987 as a 26-bed hostel, Cabanda was a vision of the local community to provide an aged care facility where people could age in the community they lived in.
Since then, we have grown to include a 71 Bed Residential Aged Care Facility, a retirement village with 42 independent living units, Centre based Respite and Social Care Group, Home and Community Care, Meals on Wheels, Community Transport, and the Cabanda Café.
Cabanda is the largest employer in Rosewood and the vision of Rosewood residents living in a community with those they have known all their lives has been maintained. We are proud to say we are still owned by the local community.

Job Description

Cabanda Care is a fully accredited Residential Aged Care Facility providing quality care and services for 71 residents.  As part of our team, Hospitality staff are required to provide a range of services including kitchen preparation, cleaning and laundry services within our facility.  You will need to be a team player with excellent reporting and communication skills and the ability to work independently to ensure our facility feels like home for our residents.

You will be supported in your role by our Hospitality Manager.

We are currently recruiting Cleaners, Laundry Assistants and Kitchen Preparation Assistants specifically for afternoon shifts across a 7 day week (finishing at approximately 7:30pm) a limited number of other shifts are available.

Desired Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

  • Previous experience working with and using cleaning and laundry equipment
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and safe handling of chemicals
  • Good communication skills
  • Good Food Safety practice and experience working in a commercial kitchen and knowledge of special diets (preferred)
  • Hold or willing to obtain a National Police Check Certificate
  • Current COVID vaccinations
  • Previous experience is aged care environment preferred but onsite training will be
